About Nathaniel Ledbetter
Public service has been a central theme of Nathaniel Ledbetter's life. He has given of himself to make his community a better place to call home, through community involvement as a citizen and parent, service on civic boards, involvement with school activities, and in elected office.
Through his years of service as a Councilman and Mayor of the City of Rainsville, Ledbetter worked hard to create opportunities for his fellow citizens. By working alongside business leaders, concerned citizens and other elected officials, Ledbetter was blessed to be part of tremendous progress for the city. This progress included areas such as job growth, fire and police protection, senior citizen services, youth activities, infrastructure development and community growth.
For more than 30 years, Ledbetter has been employed by the Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative. He works with key accounts for the electric utility, maintaining close contact with the commercial and industrial operations that provide so many of the jobs in the region. He also works with economic development efforts for SMEC.
