Meeting at Fischer

Nathaniel Ledbetter met with the citizens of Fischer Saturday to talk about how he plans to address important issues facing North Alabama. Ledbetter said his number one priority in Montgomery will be creating jobs and boosting economic development in DeKalb County. He also noted his commitment to helping and protecting Alabama farmers, teachers and volunteer fire and rescue personnel.

Nathaniel Ledbetter attends the ribbon cutting at the new interstate interchange in Ft. Payne

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently to celebrate the official opening of Fort Payne’s newest interstate interchange. The interchange will connect I-59 with 49th Street on the north side of Fort Payne, where 49th Street connects to U.S. 11 near Fort Payne High School. The completion of this interchange will greatly impact DeKalb County and this region. The interchange provides convenient access to north Fort Payne and will significantly advance industrial recruitment in the area.

Down on the farm

On July 26th, Nathaniel Ledbetter met with several candidates and over 250 people at the "Down on the Farm" event near Northeast Alabama Community College.

Support from local farmers

Nathaniel Ledbetter has the support of many local farmers. He will work hard in Montgomery to protect the family farm and make sure that DeKalb County remains one of the top agriculture-producing counties in the state. Because of his strong convictions, Ledbetter has been endorsed locally by the DeKalb Alabama Farmers Federation and at the state level by Alabama Farmers Federation.

Visiting with the People of Henagar

Nathaniel Ledbetter spent a recent Saturday morning visiting with the people of Henagar. Among his stops were a local restaurant, farm supply company, tractor company and barber shop. "I had a great morning talking with the good people in Henagar," Ledbetter says. "Citizens of DeKalb County have some real concerns, and I want them to know I'm ready to work toward real solutions as their representative." Ledbetter is seeking the District 24 seat in the Alabama House of Representatives, which encompasses most of DeKalb County.

Touring an Ider Manufacturing Plant

Nathaniel Ledbetter understands what it takes for a community to attract and support jobs. As part of his work with Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative, Ledbetter helped put together a rural economic development loan to bring Steel-Plus to Ider. The new plant is located in the former Galbreath building. Ledbetter recently toured the plant with company co-owner Jeff Haymon, along with Jimmy Durham (DeKalb County Economic Development Authority director) and Bobby McCurdy (DeKalb County Economic Development Authority board member and original developer of the industrial property that now houses Steel-Plus).
